Inspired by the Welsh word for dragon, draig / ddraig — a symbol long associated with Wales and its identity — the name Draigseco™ reflects the meeting of two influences that help shape Montfox.

The first is Wales, where the vineyard has been planted and where the future wine will be made. The second is a connection to Spanish heritage within the Montfox family, reflected in the use of the Spanish word, seco.

Together, Draigseco™ represents our ambition to create a distinctly Welsh sparkling wine rooted in place, heritage and craftsmanship. The first vintage remains some years away, but every vineyard begins with a single planting season.
